Marshmallows are the absolute best eaten fresh (in my opinion!). But...some do enjoy letting them sit out so they get a little crust on the outside! My boyfriend's father used to let his peeps sit on top of the fridge for weeks before he enjoyed them! I have even been asked before if I could sell "vintage" marshmallows?!?! I just refer them to the fridge method!
The best way to store your marshmallows is in an airtight container or bag. They will keep well for about 3-4 weeks. After that, they are still good, just not as fluffy.
For any marshmallows that contain perishable items like fruit, the best way to store those is in the fridge if not eaten in a timely manner.
It's always great to plan, but most marshmallows don't make it past day 2 in the house!
